Characterising improvements in photometric redshift probability density functions with galaxy morphology

چکیده
In this work, we studied the impact of galaxy morphology on photometric redshift (photo-$z$) probability density functions (PDFs). By including morphological parameters like radius, axis-ratio, surface brightness and S\'ersic index in addition to $ugriz$ broadbands as input parameters, used machine learning photo-$z$ algorithm ANNz2 train test galaxies from Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Stripe-82 (CS82) Survey. Metrics continuous ranked score (CRPS), integral transform (PIT), Bayesian odds parameter, even width height PDFs were evaluated, results compared when different number during training process. We find improvements CRPS has been added training, improvement is larger especially broadband magnitudes are lacking.

Photometric Redshift Biases from Galaxy Evolution
Proposed cosmological surveys will make use of photometric redshifts of galaxies that are significantly fainter than any complete spectroscopic redshift surveys that exist to train the photo-z methods. We investigate the photo-z biases that result from known differences between the faint and bright populations: a rise in active galactic nucleus (AGN) activity toward higher redshift, and a metal...
متن کاملPhotometric Properties of Low Redshift Galaxy Clusters
A recent comprehensive photometric survey of 45 low-z X-ray selected Abell clusters (López-Cruz 1997) has measured significant variations in the faint end slope of the luninosity function (LF). This result has indicated that dwarf galaxies (dGs) have different mixtures in relation with the cluster environment. Clusters having a central " cD-like " galaxy have a flatter faint end slope than non-...
متن کاملPhotometric Properties of Low-redshift Galaxy Clusters
A comprehensive multicolor survey was undertaken to investigate global optical properties of Abell clusters of galaxies. This survey was christened the LowRedshift Cluster Optical Survey (LOCOS). LOCOS was devised to search for patterns of galaxy evolution induced by the environment. The generated data base contains accurate deep CCD photometric measurements (Kron-Cousins R, B and I) for a samp...
متن کاملPhotometric Redshift of the Grb 981226 Host Galaxy
No optical afterglow was found for the dark burst GRB 981226 and hence no absorption redshift has been obtained. We here use ground-based and space imaging observations to analyse the spectral energy distribution (SED) of the host galaxy. By comparison with synthetic template spectra we determine the photometric redshift of the GRB 981226 host to be zphot = 1.11±0.06 (68% confidence level). Whi...
متن کاملUsing Galaxy Two-point Correlation Functions to Determine the Redshift Distributions of Galaxies Binned by Photometric Redshift
We investigate how well the redshift distributions of galaxies sorted into photometric redshift bins can be determined from the galaxy angular two-point correlation functions. We find that the uncertainty in the reconstructed redshift distributions depends critically on the number of parameters used in each redshift bin and the range of angular scales used, but not on the number of photometric ...
